New Laptop!
So like I said, I’m still down here in austin, but 2 nights ago, my trusty old iBook 800mhz G4 laptop took it’s last breath…or cycle…or whatever computers do. Some internal component fried and as a result, the whole machine went down, it still turns on, but the screen remains black and an awful grinding sound comes from inside the computer.
So anyway, I had saved up enough from working that I went ahead and bought a 15.4 inch MacBook Pro laptop. I got it in under 15 hours, and I love the thing. There’s just so many great little features about it that make it so much fun to use. Not to mention the screen I have is the glossy type, so for my graphics work it’s perfect. It’s fast as hell too, now I just need a new little digital camera for snapping spontaneous pics, and I’ll be completely set.
Boston?
So I’m staying with my brother here in boston until saturday, it’s a chill place, although I was expecting a bit more…uh…liveliness around here. It’s all good though, because it’s not like we stay in the apt. all day long, I’m not entirely sure what we’re doing today, but I’ve made a personal goal to sample the uh…population here in boston if possible, so I’m hoping we’ll have some good plans for tonight/this evening.
Oh, and my brother’s room mate Ryan, is this half way mark between awesome and psychopath. Let me explain a bit further: there’s a minor mouse issue in the apartment, and so Ryan has set up sticky traps around the house to catch the little bastards so they don’t eat the food and stuff. Once he catches them, he takes them either outside or into the kitchen, where he proceeds to execute them in one of many ways. So far I’ve experienced the airsoft shotgun approach. It’s rather vicious, as the c02 powered pistol he usually uses is out of gas, and while that thing takes em down real quick, the little spring shotgun lacks the oomph necessary to execute a mouse in one hit. So consequently, it takes about 5-6 shots per mouse to actually kill the little dudes. I feel pretty bad about it, considering..well they’re fuzzy and they can scurry, and the whole alive thing too…
Anyway, I was privy to one story in which Ryan was looking for new execution methods, so he took one of those big fuck-off knives you can get in a military surplus store, and procedes to chop the mouse in half, completely bisecting the critter.
Anyway, I guess it’s about 11:00 in the morning. so it’s time to go out and get breakfast, scope out the bostonians, and just have some fun.
PS. Cabernet Sauvignon is fruity.
Needed to keep my mind from wandering, threw some colors down and blended, nothing in particular, in fact I’m not even sure what I was trying to achieve. ArtRage 2.

Speed Paint.
Was originally something else, but I closed ArtRage by accident and lost my work, this was the 20 minute speed paint that took it’s place:

Time for…
a new AIM sn, I’ve been using my current one since 6th grade, and with it containing a number in place of a letter, must be executed. My new one is DaturaInoxxia.
Musings
So it’s sunday morning, how nice, no work today, and a free chance to make plans!
Anyway, I was up fairly early today (for a weekend that is) at around 9:15 or so, and as a result got most of my forum checking for the day out of the way. I must admit that I am an avid browser of the Polycount Boards, and as a result I find all sorts of neat artwork and odds and ends created by the many skilled artists there. Moving on, I found a piece of work which exemplifies a skill I am incredibly jealous of, perfect knowledge of muscle structure anatomy, check this out:

Very impressive, but we mustn’t forget to have fun as well, I found this to be rather cool:

So now that I’ve done that, I think it’s time to get off of this old laptop and out of bed so I can get my day going, I think some drawing is in order, I’ll most likely put up any sketches that I think are approaching decency.
So it’s 12:59 on a humid saturday night, and like so many people do in such small hours, I am thinking, and listening to music (they seem to go hand in hand), and as of right now, yawning as well. My auditory weapon of choice at the moment is the latest Explosions in the Sky album, All of A Sudden I Miss Everyone.
The title does in fact ring true, as a friend of mine just left for vacation and so many of my friends from school I have been out of contact with (one or two I’ve not wanted contact with), and it seems that, like me, everyone is extremely busy except for the late hours of the night, which quite obviously, are not the prime hours for making plans.
Not to mention, I myself leave for vacation in the beginning of August to go to Boston for a few days, and then in the later half to go to Austin for a week, so time is fairly short, I have roughly 2 weeks worth of time left here at home for the entire summer and the rest of it, I’ll be away.
I’ll see how things play out.
